Heart of the Valley Head Start operates preschool program in three centers for 3 to 5 year olds in Meigs and Gallia Counties.  The Ohio Department of Education provides classroom licensing.

Heart of the Valley Head Start’s mission is to support families and their children by providing quality services that foster growth in school readiness, self-sufficiency and awareness of community services.

Heart of the Valley Head Start’s educational program is designed to meet each child’s individual needs.  Heart of the Valley Head Start provides children with activities that help them grow mentally, socially, emotionally and physically.  All activities meet the developmental level of the students.

All centers have double sessions Tuesday through Friday.  The morning sessions begin at 8:30 a.m. and dismiss at 12:00 p.m.  The afternoon sessions begin at 12:00 p.m. and dismiss at 3:30 p.m.  The staff/child ratio is 1:9. 

The Bradbury Learning Center also operates a full day all year child care classroom. These sessions begin at 7:00 a.m. and end at 5:30 p.m. This program partners with the Meigs County Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services.
